Arizona's oldest Traditional Karate Organization established 1964, East Valley location since 1971. Classes 6 days a week with no contracts. All Black Belt instruction. Our facility is 5, 000SF with air conditioning, training floor with mats, bags, weights, weight machine and much more in training equipment. We are located on the lower level of the Fiesta Mall by the Dillards Outlet Center. Fiesta Mall offers a food court. Entrance on the Southwest corner of the mall lower level. Parking in the covered parking lot a real plus in the summer.

How long have you been in business?
Since 1971in the East Valley of metro Phoenix.
What is your primary product or service?
Martial Arts - Shotokan Karate
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Stopped in a Dojo in 1969 located in Phoenix where this young Japanese instructor was teaching Karate. I statrted the following week and contiuned training with him several times a week for 35+ years.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We are the oldest Karate organization and schools in Arizona. The first school was established in 1964 by Shojiro Koyama and I opened the second school in the east valley in 1971. We have a long history and tradition with many senior students who have been training 30 - 40 years and more. Our school has generations who have been training with us. Kids, Youth, Adults, Seniors, Men, Women. Many of our students have excelled on a national and a international level. Many of our competitors have become National and World Champions.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Two currently in the metro Phoenix area. We are always looking at future opportunities to expand.
Provide detailed directions to your location
Our main location if located inside the Fiesta Mall in Mesa. Fiesta Mall is conveniently located at the Superstiton Freeeway (60) and Alma School Road. One mile to the east of Fiesta Mall is Freeway "101". Great location and easy access from any part of metro Phoenix.
What type of payments do you accept?
All types of patments - Credit Cards, Checks, Cash.
Which areas do you service?
Gilbert, Chandler, Tempe, Mesa, addtionallly we have students who drive from Glendale, Phoenix, and Scottsdale.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Chuck & Cheryl Coburn
What are your hours of operation?
We are open 6 days a week. Our class hours are posted on our website www.KarateAZ.com. We also have special seminars, camps and events from time to time. We also have private instruction by appointment.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
Gives his best effort ,dedicated, integrity, doesn't give up. Has produced excellent and top level Karate students year in year out.
